English and Maths

Do you want to improve your skills and chances of finding work?

We can offer you help to improve your English and Maths to help you find the job you want!.

The courses are short courses (12-16 weeks) based in local venues such as Libraries. They are designed to increase your confidence, develop employability and work skills.

LITERACY & LANGUAGE

Emphasis will be on English as a practical and enjoyable life skill. Learners will study Speaking, listening, Reading and Writing as well as:

• How to construct a CV

• Interview preparation and practice

• How to complete a job application form

• Communication Skills

• Presentation of Information

NUMERACY

Job ready adults are expected to be able to:

• Understand and use mathematical data and statistical measures

• Use whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages

• Understand and use common measures, shape/space and probability

• Present information and explain results of findings

·   During the course of study, learners will be helped to develop the essential life skill of managing their own finances by looking at budgeting, investment and credit.
