WARDENS

The Business and Community Wardens are volunteers that work with the Finsbury Park Business Forum in partnership with A4E. The purpose of the Business and Community WARDENS is for them to gain experience, skills and training to enhance their employability. They are committed people who will help the community and businesses to stay the course.

The Business and Community WARDENS have been deployed around Finsbury Park Bus, Tube and Train station . We have 30 WARDENS on deployment around the station and we plan to increase to 200 by the end of April 2011. The WARDENS operate under the following work shifts:

8.00am to 2.00pm
1.00pm To 7.00pm
6.00 To 12.00 Midnight

Presently our WARDENS are covering only two shifts (8.00am To 7.00pm) and we are now recruiting for the 6.00pm To 12.00pm Midnight shift.

Since the launch of the programme, it has received an overwhelming amount of support from the police, residents, businesses, London Underground Ltd and London Buses. The presence of the WARDENS is having an impact regarding people’s perception of crime in the area. People feel much safer with the presence of the WARDENS because of their visual presence. This will be extended to Drayton Park, Arsenal, Highbury & Islington, Holloway Road, Angel, Camden, Kings Cross - tube and train stations.

HOURS

The Wardens will work up to 6 hours a day for 3 to 4 days a week and are CRB checked.
